Meet the Team
Leading our exceptional team of solutions specialists and curriculum designers is Melissa Fox. Melissa joined our team in winter 2008, after several years wandering in the uncharted waters of training retail employees, teaching college history, and driving to and fro across the county. Melissa brings the team an infectious energy, a passion for training and a penchant for crashing computers (a skill she uses everywhere but at Conference). When not working with travel agents she can frequently be found trekking into the great unknown, cooking, gardening or reading textbooks for fun.
If you listened to any of our recorded webinars, you have heard the voice of our training specialist Matt McCarthy. Hailing from Michigan, but with strong family ties to Canada, Matt has been a cruise travel agent for nearly a decade, where he averaged more than $1 million in sales each year!
An avid ice hockey player until receiving an injury to his hand, Matt has taught everything from how to use Excel to the intricacies of SIREV, our booking engine for Canadian agencies. Though not a celebrity himself (although some would argue the point), Matt did go to the same high school as Madonna.
Nancy Griffin joined Vacation.com in the fall of 2007, but it was not until July 2009 that she had the glorious honor of joining the Training team. Having spent two years at Vcom focused entirely on EZguider implementation, preceded by 12 years with The Mark Travel Corporation and VAX training, Nancy is no stranger to online booking systems and the particular challenges of convincing agents to get off the phone! With her time spent on EZguider and VAX training, coupled with a degree in Education from Arizona State, she brings considerable experience to the Vcom Training team.
Of course, as the self-proclaimed “Cat Lady of Sanford,” she is often distracted by her 15+ furry feral feline friends and her efforts to temporarily adopt, neuter and release them… much to the applause of her neighbors (and rolling eyes of her husband).
